Vertical Line Test (Jump to: Lecture | Video )


A Function is a relation where each value in the domain is paired with a single value in the range.

Below is a very basic example of a function.

The vertical line test can be performed on a series of points to test if they are a valid function. If the line never touches more than one point, you are dealing with a valid function.
