Here, we have an expression with multiple parts:

4x - 8 + y - 3

This expression is made up of three components:

Terms

Terms are parts of an equation, separated by mathematical operators.

Coefficients

Coefficients are the numerical parts of terms containing variables.

Here, the coefficient in front of x is "4". The coefficient in front of y is "1".

Constants

Constants are terms that do not contain variables.
