Simplification

An expression has been fully simplified when it has no parenthesis or like terms.

Take the following expression:

2x + 3x + 4 + 3

We simplify the expression by combining all like terms:

5x + 7

Let's simplify a more complicated expression:

2x(3 + 4) - 2y + 5y

6x + 8x - 2y + 5y

14x + 3y
