The Distributive Property

The Distributive Property is a method that can be used when multiplying a polynomial by a monomial.

a(b + c) = ab + ac

d(e - f) = de - ef

Let's try a few more complex examples with variables:

12(2x - 3y) = 24x - 36y

x(2 - y) = 2x - xy

2w(4 + y) = 8w + 2wy
