Dilation

In a Dilation, the size of a geometric figure is altered.

Above, we have a square graphed on a coordinate plane. The square is formed by connecting the four points (1, 1), (3, 1), (1, 3), (3, 3).

Let's perform a dilation to double the size of the square. We can do so by doubling the "x" and "y" values of each point.
