Compound Inequalities

A Compound Inequality is a way of expressing two inequalities at the same time.

Above we have two inequalities joined by "and". Any value within the green portion of the number line is a valid solution to both inequalities.

Intersection

The intersection contains valid solutions for both inequalities.

Above we have two inequalities joined by "or". Any values within either of the green portions of the number line are valid solutions to one (and only one) of the inequalities.

Union

The union contains valid solutions for either one of the inequalities.
